Plot Summary
The film begins with a sleepover of children prank calling people playing the game Seventy Five while their parents are in the other room having drinks. The rules of the game are that you must keep some random person on the line for 75 seconds, and they must believe what you’re saying. As the night goes on the kids go to bed, a man whom the kids recently called calls back, before jumping from a closet and killing all the parents in the house with an axe as the children hide in their bedrooms.
Ten years later, a man is masturbating in his house, when he receives a phone call from someone telling him they can see him. He begins to walk slowly through the house, before hanging up the phone, assuming it’s a prank call. He resumes his activities at his computer before a man appears behind him, killing him with an axe.
Meanwhile, a group of college students are preparing to go to a party in an obscure mansion a few hours away. On their way to the mansion, they stop at a gas station to use the restroom, and the news of the murder is reported on the television. It is revealed that the man who died was one of the children from the original Waley murders at the beginning of the story.
Two detectives are called in to help solve the case. They track down another survivor of the murders, only to find her and her boyfriend dead at her trailer. They go onto another college where another child lives, only to find them dead as well. It is then revealed that two of the students at the party were also orphaned at the murder.
Back at the mansion, the party starts, with Marcus suggesting a game of Seventy Five. At first it’s all going well, until one guest pretends he is in someones house, about to kill them. The tables are turned when the person they called reveals they are a murderer, and proceeds to kill someone while on the phone. They all agree not to answer the phone again that night, but one girl does anyway, giving directions to the pizza boy. However, when two guys look around, they realize the pizza is already delivered.
A few hours later, four college students are relaxing in the front room, when the doorbell rings. A girl goes to answer it, to immediately be beheaded by the killer. Another girl goes to check on her, but meets the same fate, as do the two other boys who were with them. The killer continues through the mansion, beheading a boy in the jacuzzi and then killing his girlfriend.
Marcus sees the body of the girl outside the window and alerts everyone else, who try to get out of the house but find the door locked. Finally another girl opens it, just in time as the killer chases them, furiously trying to chop down the metal door. Brandon (the host of the party) begins to blame the other guests, especially Marcus. Kareem, his girlfriend and another boy knocking at the door, screaming to be let in, interrupt their argument. Brandon decides to go down the hall to his dads office to get the keys to his car but trips over, and is startled by his girlfriend. They are then confronted by the killer, and Brandon is axed in the back. His girlfriend is then thrown off the balcony, but survives and runs back into the house into the video room.
Meanwhile back in the room, Marcus and Kareem decide to look for Brandon, but find Roxy, Kareem's girlfriend dead, with Scott who is crying over her body. They decide to return but run into the killer. Marcus and Kareem starts to fight him, and as Scott swings at him with the axe, he kills Kareem. Marcus starts to yell at him but Scott smiles before trying to swing at Marcus who runs away. He runs into the room where Brandon's girlfriend is, and is watching the tv with all the security cameras. They watch together as two other friends are murdered, before Scott finds them. Scott reveals that he chose to be the killer because he blames Marcus for his parents death, since it was his choice to play Seventy Five all those years ago and he called the killer.
He also reveals he had an accomplice from a school he went to, but after introducing him he stabs him as well, as Marcus watches on in horror. They get into a struggle, and Scott is killed by Marcus, just as the detectives burst in. Seeing Marcus with the axe, they assume he is the killer, and shoot him. As they relax, relieved it is all over, Scott's accomplice raises up with the axe behind them.

7eventy Five fails
I'm sorry to all the fans, but this is a useless movie. The acting is
cloventt - 16 February 2009bad, even wooden, it over-hypes the fright-factor early on, and doesn't
exactly work. I think there was supposed to be a twist at the end, but
it just ended up being maddeningly confusing. What the hell? The dude
who was killing everyone was one of the hunted? Try again. Its hardly original, and it isn't even particularly good as a straight
slasher. And that's saying something.I think whoever did the castings, whoever wrote the script, and whoever
thought of the concept should be mercilessly fired and deported.Don't watch this movie. If someone puts this on at a party, throw the
disc out the window and put on a good horror movie, like Silence of the
Lambs or The Shining.
Nice concept, not executed too well.
This movie has a quite good promising concept for a genre movie. It's a
Boba_Fett1138 from Groningen, The Netherlands - 24 August 2008slasher in which lots of people are getting killed randomly by a serial
killer. Like many genre movies before the movie uses phone-calls as its
main concept. It's something which always works out well for
horror/thriller movies. Nothing wrong with the phone-class but
everything else about the movie is just way below par.I purely watch these kind of movies because of Rutger Hauer. Even
though the movies are always horrible, his presence still gives the
movies always something special. But like always, his role is far too
small. Perhaps if he was the main lead the movie would still had been
more bearable. It now is as if he plays in a totally different movie
himself and has nothing to do with the main plot-line of the movie.
Like his scenes were shot at a totally different phase of production. I
bet he never ever even met most of the other actors and crew members
involved with the movie. One of the movie its problem are its characters. The movie is a
slasher, so of course it features a bunch of university students,
played of course by a bunch of actors who are close to- or even older
than 30 years already. None of them are however likable or memorable.
They are basically all the same and a bunch of typical stereotypes. I
don't even know who all these characters were and what their names
were. There are just too many characters in it and most of them are
just asking to be killed. The movie its story also just doesn't ever seem to get off the ground.
The first halve of the movie is filled with many false scares. Way too
many. The scare moments of the movie because of this start to become
really ineffective. It even makes the movie more comical like at times
than an horror movie. Not sure if this was the point of it all. It was
Brian Hooks first and as of yet only directed movie. Besides that he
also played the main lead and served as a producer and writer for the
movie. He's obviously not the most talented person around in the
business. When the movie becomes more of a slasher and horror/thriller movie the
movie becomes more watchable to watch for the genre fans, despite being
formulaic and predictable with it all. No, it's just not the most
exciting or scary genre movie around but there are also definitely
worse of out there. The genre fans should be able to appreciate some of
the gore and violence of the movie. The movie soon however starts to get worse again as it heads toward its
ending, when the movie is trying to be clever by trowing a couple of
twists (what else is new?), which are just too far out there and don't
work out well for the movie as a whole.5ive/10en
Steals from both SCREAM and SCARY MOVIE
The beginning is well-made and scary, but the editor messes the tension
Everyday-Struggler from E-Town - 13 August 2008up by having everybody in the credits (and there parents as well it
seems) stopping the movie every 20 seconds. As it progresses the movie wuits being scary and becomes more of a
SCARY MOVIE spoof type of film for the next 40 minutes, then it shifts
into a wannabe SCREAM.With that considered it's actually watchable, even though it's one of
the most uneven films i have ever seen, but there where some cool
scenes and some decent acting, although BRIAN HOOKS being around 30
playing around 17 isn't really convincing.
It Was Okay not as good as scream But better then 4.5
OK for starters so this movie could be considered a scream Ripoff
Deathrow_nzl from New Zealand - 22 June 2008But… I thought it was kind of clever how then invented the whole 75
second concept. The acting was okay.. The action was quite good for
your standard Slasher film & it seems like they used a reasonable
budget on it compared to many slasher films as this is normally a
really low budget film area. Many slashers are done for well under
$100,000(US) I would guess by watching this movie it might have cost
maybe $5 mil to make. & I thought the ending was OK But I wont tell you
anything about the ending in case you watch itI think its worth a 6 1/2 But if you want to pick holes in it for being
a scream ripoff maybe it is a 4.5 But its not a bad movie anyway
