  • Eh…

I watched Bullet one night expecting to have something to keep me
occupied for a little while. With it only being an hour and a half long
I figured it would move quick and keep me interested. The plot was predictable and really had no twists to it. It reminded me
of King Of New York in a way because we see him leave prison and go
right back to doing stupid stuff that almost got him killed before. You
know how the movie will end as soon as it starts. Tupac could have
killed Bullet multiple times in the movie, but toys with him to
"torture" him and get revenge. But at the end he just shoots him and
runs away. Nothing clever and nothing unexpected. They attempted to
build suspense but it led nowhere.Tupac's performance was not as good as some of his other movies, and it
was a really cliché type of character anyway. Adrien Brody was
underused. Mickey Rourke was good as usual. He's great at playing the
twisted hardass. Ted Levine was also great. Who better to play the
paranoid ex-army psycho brother? Also keep an eye out for Donnie
Wahlberg playing Big Balls haha.So in general Bullet was OK. If you're bored check it out. You can kill
an hour and a half. Wasn't too bad.

  • SUCH a sick movie

since i watched the wrestler i've been on a kick of renting mickey
rourke movies and aside from the wrestler i'd say this is his best
performance i've seen so far. he was just so good in this movie. he
shows so much emotion and still pulls off the whole tuff guy bad ass
thing. mickey rourke is effing cool man. the guy who plays bullet's older brother also really stands out to me.
he definitely had crazy, paranoid war vet down. and bullet's best friend was funny as hell. what a joke.i heard mixed reviews about this movie so i decided to go in without
expecting much and i was pleasantly surprised. i really enjoyed it. it's not a feel good movie. it has lots of funny bits (for those of us
with a sick sense of humor) but at the same time it is quite serious
and i think people can learn from it. it may sound cool to be hard and
tuff but watch this movie. i think the main intention of the movie was
to show kids what street life can do to people (which of course had
been done before in other films but its still good).anyway… they say that this one of mickey rourke's few good moments in
that point of his acting career and i would definitely encourage people
    to check it out.

  • Cuts right to the chase and shows the inner workings of the street.

Directed by Julien Temple and starring Mickey Rourke, Tupac Shakur,
John Enos III, Ted Levine and Adrien Brody. If anyone ever wants a real
glimpse into the lives of people on the streets and the harsh reality
of heroin addiction and what it can do to a person then watch this
movie. It stars of course Mickey Rourke as Bullet(Butch Stein) and a
few other great actors as well. Adrien Brody as Bullet's little
brother(Ruby Stein). Ted Levine is bullets older schizophrenic Vietnam
vet brother(Lewis Stein). This is also of course tupac shakur's first
movie role as the up and coming gangster "tank". This is very classic
Mickey Rourke, He is extremely into his role as the ex-convict heroin
junkie, Bullet. That's what makes this movie very tough for most to
accept as a great film. It's right down to reality as far as what
heroin can do to a person. In the beginning Bullet just get's out of
prison after serving 8 years for a robbery, he was covering for a
friend we later find out. Prison has obviously effected bullets life
tremendously also the fact that he is suffering from a hardcore heroin
addiction which he probably got started with while he was in prison. There are a lot of flash back's from bullet and references to his time
in prison as well. The first thing bullet does when he is released is
commit another felony by robbing and stabbing a Latin drug dealer
taking his money and heroin. Then bullet and his gang all get high
together and listen to Barry white. What bullet represents in this film
is the epitome of what drug addiction can make a person do. He robs
houses and steals from hard working people in order to support his
heroin addiction. But the way Rourke depicts this character is
fascinating in that he is just so completely into his role, he lives
his role in Bullet. It goes without saying that this film is extremely
underrated. I don't think a lot of people understand Mickey Rourke as
an actor, Im sure even he himself has a hard time doing that. Or maybe
some people simply just haven't really seen any of his movies therefore
don't have any kind of scope on Rourke's talents as an actor. But
remember these are all only theories of mine.Take for example "Year Of The Dragon" probably Rourkes finest
performance of his entire acting career. This is of course a totally
different kind of film unlike the former being a serious role and the
one who puts away street scum like "bullet". It was only after viewing
this movie a few more times that I realized how good it was. Like any
good movie you cant possibly ever understand every single detail, but
each time you get a closer understanding of what the director was
intending to accomplish.Bullet has just about everything that you need from a movie that is
supposed to center around street life and drug life. The pitfalls of
what drug addiction can do a person. Serving hard time in a state
penitentiary. Prison made Bullet "hard" so when he finally was released
he didn't know how to fit in with normal life so inevitably he resorted
back to what he knew best and that was drugs and everything else that
goes along with it. Not a moment is spared upon his release from
prison, no hesitation, no remorse and no guilt. He knew exactly what he
wanted to do with his life. Almost like bullet had given up on his life
a long time ago. There are many great scenes of the streets of New York, a lot of nice
artistic shots as well. The fact that Bullet's younger brother was an
artist played by Adrien Brody, you are wondering what he is doing in
this type of film, but I think this is a perfect role for his acting
ability. A lower budget independent film. Thats what makes this movie
so great.Ted lavine as Lewis Stein, Bullet's older brother is played very good.
He represents the madness that can come from being a Vietnam soldier
and post traumatic stress syndrome. Its a very dark and gritty
character here who thinks he is still in Vietnam. Bullet comes from a
middle class family. He was supposed to be the brightest in his whole
family and he had very high expectations. Drugs had taken hold of his
life starting from a very young age. He was kicked out of his private
school for dealing drugs. In the end I leave it up to the viewer to
decide for themselves, but remember the circumstances and the direction
of the film first and foremost, what skills they all had to use when
given so little of a budget. Bullet is one of my favorite independent
    movies with Mickey Rourke.

  • Great dark movie starring Mickey Rourke!

I really enjoyed this dark movie which follows the life of Butch
'Bullet' Stein played by Mickey Rourke. The movie shows you the life of
'Bullet' from when he first gets out prison and the events that follow.
I like how the film makes you feel like you are there following his
life. I also enjoyed the other characters in the film and feel they
were portrayed very well and had depth. Pitting 'Bullet' against 'Tank'
played by Tupac Shakur worked perfectly. I was really impressed with
this film overall and have watched it several times. Remember though,
it is dark, and not a positive type of movie so it may not be for
everybody. But, for those who like a tough, gritty Mickey Rourke it's a
    must see!
