  • Thuroughly Enjoyable.

The previous Terminator movies, and other similar sci-fi action flicks
have taught us to expect a lot of fights and explosions, but not much
acting. This movie completely shattered this preconception. Lets face
it, although Christian Bale is one of the finest actors alive today,
his recent blockbusters (this included) haven't given him much scope to
perform. However, Sam Worthington (who I hadn't heard of before this
film) really acted his socks off to create a deep, three-dimensional
character - which is simultaneously difficult to do considering his
character AND quite a pun keeping todays' CGI standards in mind. I have
also been keeping an eye on young Anton Yelchin since his brief
appearance in Curb Your Enthusiasm, seeing him in Alpha Dog, and then
catching up with him again in Star Trek and now this. This young guy is
a very talented actor, who could easily be the next DiCaprio. To get to
the point, this is a very exciting pop-corn flick portraying the
stories of two important men in this fictional future battlefield,
which has been coupled with great acting from all angles (ahem! aside
from Common). Go and see it!

  • Very good action movie, As for a Terminator movie not the best but still good

Well after seeing this in the theatres I only was really upset with one
thing. That was the supporting casts performances. Mostly Common's
performance. When he got word that his brother was killed, the emotion
was not there. It was like Bale had more emotion in his face than
Common did. Also it was like he rushed through his lines quite a bit
just to get through them. I was happy that they limited Bryce Dallas
Howards lines and Moon Bloodgoods line because it was necessary. They
gave the bulk of the story to Christian Bale, Sam Worthington, and
Anton Yelchon. Anton was great as Kyle Reese. For the story and the
timeline it was perfect. He was young and wanted to fight but wasn't
necessarily sculpted right at that age. He had a lot of pride in the
character which was shown. Sam Worthington played his part extremely
well. Bale was solid from my point of view. A lot of people are bashing
the acting of this movie. The only acting that was unemotional and
believable was Common's. I didn't see any plot holes like everyone else
was saying. Its 2018 and the wars we saw in Cameron's pictures were
2027. Skynet did not recognize Kyle as Connors father ever in this
movie, they just recognized him as someone important that could lure
Connor into the factory. Which made perfect sense. The first complete
T-800 is released and is destroyed along with the factory. Well that
explains the delayed production of the T-800 till 2027. Makes sense
here. I don't know the other plot holes other people are speaking
about. I am a very loyal fan to the terminator franchise and understand
them quite well, so I'm sure if there is some I missed I would be glad
to go over them =) Arnold's character appearance was fun eye candy but
wasn't necessary for this movie. They did good on the CGI for his face
to make it look more like the first Terminator. Overall very good movie to watch. It is not perfect by any means. It
was made by what it was meant to be, an action picture. The music was
quite good as well. I liked Elfmans new theme and glad it inquired the
original theme towards the end of the beginning credits. I think the
theme could have been used more in it but it suited the movie very
well. The special effects are top notch. The CGI is very well used
which is hard to say these days when most CGI effects look fake and
rubbery. Stan Winston would be proud of his effects in his last
credited film. The cinematography was quite good. There was a lot of
grayscale used which helped setup a run down future setting. The
weapons the humans used were pretty cool. I'm looking forward to a DVD
R rated replease. You can tell this movie was toned down quite a bit,
especially the scene where the guy was trying to escape the skynet
holding block and crawling on top of the wall and the T-600 shot him
with a minigun. Now this is a gun that fires 3-6k rounds a minute and
the guy died like instantly without showing him getting shot. So I'm
sure he was shredded quite a bit and it was removed for the PG-13
release. Many of the death scenes were probably either cut or toned
down for this release. So when the DVD is release if it has an R rating
or Unrated title next to it, I'm sure we'll get more out of it. McG
even said in an interview that this should have been an R rated
picture, and in the end its not his decision to make it the rating.
Thats the production company. It still pleased as a PG-13 picture, however would have been more
fulfilling as an R. Much better than the new Transformers. Which would
have been better suited for a PG rating if there wasn't as much
swearing in it. I think this is a good addition to the franchise, not
T1 or T2 quality but you can't expect that quality all the time. I
think its much better than the lifetime movie of T3. This one at least
kept you in the Terminator mindset the whole movie. I expect the
sequels to get closer to what we were used to seeing in the flashback
scenes of the previous movies of 2027 with more bluescale and more
futuristic weapons and more T-800 action. I give this movie and 8 out of 10. It gives you what you want. Nothing
more nothing less. Its a good terminator movie. Expect DVD to be
better. Looking forward to the sequels next year or whenever =)

  • Damn Good Effects, Awesome Action and Acting…But where's that DAMN TERMINATOR FEEL

I was waiting for this movie, the fourth installment of the Terminator
series for a long like any other terminator fan. While watching the movie in the theater, I still remember all we
friends were in the edges of our seats most of the time…damn good
action really. And must mentionable visual effect and also a decent
acting by all the characters. I found a few changes in the
storytelling. Like the good terminator "Marcus" here have feelings like
no other previous terminators we've seen in the previous movies. This
movies shows how not to lose belief upon us. I was never expecting
Arnold to appear. We all know without his appearance a terminator movie
is all incomplete. Just when all of us were thinking that we're missing
him badly, even after all damn action sequences; just then he appeared
for a minute or more. But at least we got him….but remember this not
our real hero Arnold, he's all animated in 3D. Anyways I liked this
movie, enjoy totally…and all you terminator lover should take a look. But after all these good stuffs, somewhere in the heart of a true fan
there will be a question that isn't something missing? Yes, the missing
thing is The Arnold Feel and the Terminator Feel. But whatever…This
was good movie…Waiting for the next installment.

  • Re-edits Needed BEFORE the DVD comes out

I finally saw Salvation this weekend. What a disappointment. The most
pivotal scene in the movie — John meeting his father — was completely
devoid of emotion. The Sarah Connor Chronicles was much more emotional
and thought-provoking.Hopefully Salvation will be re-edited before going to DVD. This needs
to happen:* All of Common's scenes need to be deleted.* All of Moonblood's scenes need to be deleted.* The little mute kid needs to be deleted.* Bryce Howard needs to be given that freed-up airtime.* More of the earlier-model terminators. They should operate like
zombies do in zombie movies; slow moving, tons of them.* Turn it into a sci-fi meets zombie movie; make it a CHASE movie.* No use of the word "terminator," just like in T2.* Don't show Kyle Reece until the end; he's the goal, the big reveal.* Get rid of the giant Autobot/Michael Bay/collectors.* Get rid of the submarine subplot.* New music; it was horrible.* Get rid of the Arnold fight scene; replace with a conveyor belt of
partially-manufactured Arnolds, foreshadowing the future.* I think you can get rid of the Helena B. Carter character, and maybe
even get rid of… dare I say it… Sam Worthington. Seriously, what's
the point?Someone needs to kick McG's McAss.
